Prof. Ph.D., Chief Consultant

Professor Dr. Md. Mofakhkharul Bari is a distinguished orthopedic consultant and educator, extensively trained in reconstructive surgery, specifically utilizing the Ilizarov technique. He serves as the Chief Consultant at the Bari-Ilizarov Orthopaedic Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and holds professorships and honors at multiple international institutions. Prof. Bari has contributed significantly to orthopedic research and education through numerous publications and global presentations.

  • Senior consultant in the dept. of Reconstructive Surgery of Leprosy Control Institute & Hospital, Mohakhali, Dhaka as a Reconstructive surgeon from 25th February, 1992 till 16th sept. 1999
  • Chief Consultant of Bari-Ilizarov Orthopaedic Centre Since November, 1997 till date
  • Assistant Professor in Mymensingh Medical College & Hospital (MMCH) from 19.09.1999 to Feb. 2004
  • Joined as Associate Professor in NITOR (National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation) on Feb. 2004 and worked as the Unit Chief.
  • Served in Haiti, Jan. 2010 – after earthquake as the leader of the health team representing the country (People’s Republic of Bangladesh)
  • Joined as professor in NITOR May, 2011 being a pioneer in the Dept. of Deformity Correction, Ilizarov & Reconstructive Surgery unit till 1st November 2013
